The Ministry for the Environment Crown Entity Performance team is responsible for monitoring two Crown entities - the Environmental Protection Authority and the Climate Change Commission - and providing appointments and governance advice in relation to other statutory and advisory bodies that are Ministerial appointments under Vote Environment.
We are looking for an experienced senior advisor to join our team. In this role you will help lead the Ministry's approach to performance monitoring and board appointments and ensure the entities for which MfE is responsible perform well and deliver against their objectives.
You will build great relationships internally and externally and help others to do the same. You'll be politically savvy, and a creative thinker and influencer with an ability to grasp multiple viewpoints. You understand Crown entity monitoring and are comfortable representing the Ministry and the range of issues we deal with.
Reporting to the Manager, Crown Entity Performance, a key focus of this role will be embedding the monitoring framework and the internal operating model and maturing the Ministry's monitoring relationships. In addition to the BAU of the annual accountability and reporting cycle there will project work and ad hoc issues management.
You will provide strategic leadership on best practice approaches and processes to ensure high-quality analysis and advice, whilst mentoring others. You know what excellence looks like and can provide guidance on entity performance utilising your technical knowledge and experience.
